ABOUT THE POSITION
Transportation/Traffic Engineer | Tampa, FL
VHB's growing Tampa, FL office is seeking a mid-level Transportation/Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Planning & Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and traffic/civil engineers on a variety of public, private-sector and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including real estate development, municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal lands, and aviation.
Responsibilities
Design/planning of transportation engineering projects
Work with a team of professionals in a variety of transportation-related areas to develop mobility solutions that consider all users integrating Complete Street concepts within urban and suburban communities
Conduct multi-modal transportation analyses, including traffic, bike/ped, freight
Perform planning and concept design of intersection improvements, multimodal facilities, and transportation corridors
Prepare traffic impact, safety analyses, corridor, and intersection improvement studies
Conduct and assist with traffic forecasting and traffic operational analysis
Conduct research, prepare reports, and present findings and results to clients
Create effective and engaging figures and data visualization to convey concept designs and data analyses
Support the development of proposals, scopes of work, and track project budgets
Lead project tasks

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to think critically and strategically
Self-motivated and self-disciplined
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or related field
3-5+ years of professional experience in the civil/transportation engineering/planning fields; experience at a consulting firm a plus
Licensed EIT or PE/PTOE/RSP preferred
Experience with Synchro, HCS and Sidra required
Experience with Cube/FSUTMS preferred
Experience with Microstation a plus
Experience with PTV VISSIM/VISUM a plus
