Transportation Engineer, EIT

At Tetra Tech, we are searching for an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation team full-time.  As an EIT, you will be involved with the design of local roadways, highways, multi-use paths and traffic control systems, and will work with our team of recognized industry experts.

Your Role:

• Design of highway, arterial and local roadway improvements.

• Design of public infrastructure components such as drainage and water/wastewater systems.

• Performs a variety of engineering tasks, including development of roadway geometry, signing, pavement marking, drainage and maintenance of traffic plans

• Perform 3D Modeling using ORD and civil 3D design softwares

• Prepare estimated quantity calculations and cost estimates

• Preparation of engineering documents, plans, and specifications for contractors to build from.

• Assist in the development of project design and construction schedules

• Perform site visits to support the field engineering and design process

• Prepare design alternative evaluation studies and technical reports.

• Participation in public involvement, public meetings, networking and client interface.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering (transportation focus is a plus)

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification, preferred

• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

• Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D is preferred

• Proficient with Microsoft software, to include Word and Excel

• This position may require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more
