Job Summary

Sam Schwartz, a TYLin Company, is seeking an early career Traffic Engineer to join our Chicago-based Traffic Engineering Team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The selected individual will perform various traffic engineering and transportation planning tasks including:

• Conduct site visits, field observations, and data collection

• Perform traffic, pedestrian, parking, and safety analyses

• Use traffic analysis software and innovative data analytics tools

• Develop CAD-based design drawings of signs, markings, and signal controls

• Conduct reviews of transportation plans and drawings for operational effectiveness

• Prepare high-quality graphics, data visualizations, and reports

• Attend internal and external project meetings

Qualifications

The candidate must be organized, able to work both collaboratively and independently, manage priorities, think creatively, and meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering

• Skilled user of Excel

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Adobe Illustrator preferred

• Experience in traffic analysis software including HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and/or VISSIM preferred

• EIT certification preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to commute to the office at least three days per week

• Authorized to work in the US
