Inspects & assists the Construction office in the inspection of project sites to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, special provisions, state & federal regulations under the general supervision of a licensed professional engineer. Approves use of contingencies (i.e. quantity & plan design) stipulated by contract & has authority to stop work by contractor.
Coordinates reviews & inspects structural painting on construction projects to ensure compliance with current requirements of painting activities, including performing final inspections related to painting of steel detailed in construction contracts. Assists in evaluating current OPI standings in order to maintain required target levels for the Construction Department.
Reviews & analyzes problems on construction projects. Discusses issues & recommend solutions.
Assists in the development & processing of change orders to facilitate activities of the department. Prepares reports, analyzes & estimates necessary in the performance of the day-to-day activities of the Construction Office by utilizing various computer software.
Meets with public, government officials & property owners to provide information regarding projects; confers with higher level engineers to gain assistance to resolve unusual problems; performs other job related duties (e.g. assists with payroll, answer correspondence) to ensure efficiency & accomplish goals of the Department.
Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
