Description

Job Summary: Responsible for performing transportation functions related to the authorized travel of students at Government expense.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all PRH and CSD policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures.

  • Transports students at government expenses outlined in PRH 335.

  • Processes and records Government Transportation Requests, meal tickets and itineraries for authorized student travel.

  • Specifies the desired services and fares when making requests of carriers, using the most efficient and economical means of transportation available.

  • Responsible for ordering vehicle supplies, insurance and registration cards, and transportation documentation.

  • Responsible for making sure that drivers maintain proper documentation for vehicle cleaning and safety equipment inspections.

  • Prepares monthly Fleet Reports.

  • Prepares Travel Authorization for new enrollee input, assisting with input scheduling and coordination with screening agencies.

  • Maintains terminated student records and placement records.

  • Attends required staff training session.

  • Do a visual check of all vehicles before they go out and when they return to the center during shift, Report areas of concern to the Transportation Managers.

  • Attends required staff training sessions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum: Ability to work Tuesday-Saturday. High school graduate or equivalent. Two year's work -related experience as a coordinator. Class B license with passenger and air brake endorsements, as well as be certified to drive large buses, up to 44 passengers, passenger van experience. Must be proficient with Microsoft office computer programs. Ability to communicate effectively using a two-way radio and cell phone.

Preferred: Extensive experience.

Knowledge: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, the candidate must have regular attendance. Must possess valid State driver's license and commercial driver's license. Ability to operate personal computer. Ability to use various software related inventory control. Be able to relate to the population. Excellent organization skills; good record keeping skills.
