Routes outbound and inbound freight to assure receipt or delivery, as required. Processes freight claims with carriers for losses, damages, product overages, or shortages.
Keeps accurate records and prepares periodic reports for management. Dispatches carriers or fleet drivers and communicates routes and local contact information to drivers. Audits to ensure invoice accuracy.
Assigns and schedules shipments with appropriate carriers. Ensures on time coordination by interfacing frequently with customer service and other functions as appropriate. Expedites requests for tracing of freight movement.
Audits freight bills, submitting error documentation to carriers for refunds. May trace lost or delayed shipments. Analyzes Inbound or Outbound requests, optimizing freight by determining most cost and time effective route or carrier according to customer needs.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years related experience. Must have superior computer skills -- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Familiarity with an ERP system such as Oracle will be viewed favorably. Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
