ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the transportation of project freight in a broker's capacity, including creating and updating orders in the Transportation Management System (TMS).

• Lead the negotiation of pricing and other commercial terms between carriers and customers with limited supervision.

• Provide a high level of customer service by acting as the primary point of contact throughout the life cycle of the business engagement.

• Prepare custom reports and analysis outlining client/carrier performance, to include customer reports to each customer on their shipping operations, tied to customer specific goals

• Meet and present to current and potential clients.

• Deliver clear, honest, and proactive communication to customers and carriers

• Constantly evaluates processes and approach for areas of improvement and efficiency.

• Actively pursue new business by partnering with Suddath Hospitality Services to quote freight as a part of their customer bids as well as contacting new clients and networking with existing clients to help them achieve their objectives.

• Create effective sales strategies for customers inclusive of profitability analyses, equipment and mode considerations and market capacity intel.

• Create processes and procedures that optimize information sharing between customer and the company.

• Conduct weekly/monthly progress meetings with clients to share trends, progress to date and outstanding items remaining.

• Collaborate and strategize with other business units to drive value for the customer based on their project needs.

• Proactively manage project budgets on behalf of client based on Company's proposal and quotations.

Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. 2-3 years of experience in transportation brokerage desired (specifically with hospitality or FF&E projects). 1-2 years of experience in sales or account management is preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of, or ability to learn and effectively use Transportation Management systems software. Ability to utilize independent judgement. Ability to work effectively in a team. Excellent organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a strong sense of self-motivation. Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a changing environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to sufficiently read, speak, and write on a professional level. Comfortable communicating cross departmentally with a range of customers and team members.
