Job Description:

This position is responsible for the success and effectiveness of Stryker's transportation management solutions. The span of control includes driving our data & analytics strategy, prescriptive and predictive logistics analysis and overall support to improve efficiency, speed, and quality of transportation services. This role develops and maintains strategic relationships with both internal and external partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plan for management of transportation data and integration with other sources impacting transportation spend

  • Review global, national, or regional transportation information to identify opportunities to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, demand planning, and supply planning.

  • Identify, validate, and implement specific stakeholder requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.

  • Develop and guide the collection of metrics and reports to interpret the information into meaningful, actionable initiatives

  • Collaborate with the ERP work stream lead for Shipping & Transportation to identify global impacts and practical uses of the TMS system. Develop the appropriate organization structure for transition of the new TMS into operations.

  • Maintain strong functional relationships with IT and finance and act as the Global Transportation liaison with these departments

  • Evaluate and recommend scalable scenarios that facilitate global growth and add customer value

  • Actively monitor and evaluate transportation and data trends and translate into potential opportunities.

Qualifications & Work Experience Required:

  • SAP knowledge preferred.

  • TMS experience preferred

  • Standard Microsoft office skills required; Access, Power BI / Tableau required; Experience with Llamasoft preferred

  • Familiarity or experience with lean, six sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies (preferred).

  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to see problems and recommend or take appropriate actions to solve them, ability to work in detail and be result oriented.

  • Medical device background preferred.

Education & Special Training Required:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain, Business, Data Science, Statistics or appropriate discipline plus 7+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Travel Percentage: 10%

This includes driver management, load planning, and customer service functions needed to ensure customer satisfaction. The operational functions include revenue generation, safety, recruiting, equipment maintenance monitoring, and driver payroll. This must be accomplished in conjunction with meeting the key performance indicators established by the Dedicated Logistics Manager, Operations Manager and our customer. Responsibilities: * Build and maintain driver relationships through understanding and meeting driver needs. These needs include, but are not limited to home time, payroll, utility, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, safety and equipment issues, etc. * Assigning drivers to loads by optimizing load information such as origination, destination, type of freight, number of miles, stops, directions, etc. with driver needs and availability. * This is done using the AS400 computer system, Qualcomm satellite, face-to-face communication, and phone. * Understand and adhere to our customer's dynamics, service expectations, goals, and initiatives as they relate to improving value for the Customer and Werner. * Interface with various departments such as billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance and external vendors. * Work closely with Dedicated Manager and/or Operations Manager to fill and maintain a full board of drivers. * Bachelor's degree (Business Administration, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics) and/or two to three years of fleet management or transportation experience in the truckload industry preferred. * Six months to one year of supervisory experience preferred. * Strong organizational skills and management ability. * Skill in operating a computer terminal and satellite communications system required.
