POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Aide/Transporter must be able to: Transport patients throughout the hospital using wheelchairs, stretchers and unit beds.

The Patient Aide/Transporter is expected to: perform general administrative functions for the completion of the job task, ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and perform data entry operations using appropriate hospital software. The Patient Aide/Transporter is expected to be: responsible for providing excellent customer services that reflect positively on the hospital, and department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
1.It is preferred that the Patient Aide/Transporter is: a high school graduate or equivalent
2.It is preferred that the Patient Aide/Transporter has completed: a certified CPR course for healthcare providers
3.The Patient Aide/Transporter must have knowledge of: basic computer operations including Windows and preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs
4.The use of wheelchairs, stretchers, IV holders, and oxygen tanks

VIEW JOBS 12/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-11T00:00 Description The City of Norfolk's Department of Public Works is currently seeking an experienced Transportation Strategic Planner. The Transportation Strategic Planner will be responsible for serving as the Manager of Mobility, Planning & Project Development in the shaping of City transportation policies. Work involves developing, coordinating and supervising the planning process for the City's Mobility Division. The Department of Public Works builds, maintains and operates the physical facilities that support and enhance the lives of Norfolk's citizens, businesses and visitors, including the City's Street Network, Traffic Management System, Storm Water System, Waste Management and Recycling Systems. This position is Unclassified and serves at the will of the City Manager. City of Norfolk residency is required within six (6) months of appointment. Essential Functions Essential functions include, but are not limited to: * Develops and advances the City of Norfolk's Multimodal Transportation Master Plan. * Monitors the City's transportation strategies and project goals. * Develops and executes a public outreach strategy to be used in planning and project development initiatives for the City. * Conducts spatial analyses and mapping for transportation planning purposes. * Manages and monitors work performance by supervising subordinate program and project managers. * Monitors transportation budgets and secures state and federal grant funds, including the development of proposals and applications. * Develops and manages budgets for specific transportation projects and provides oversight to assigned budget areas. * Prepares for and attends regional meetings. * Monitors, reviews and comments on significant transportation proposals at the federal, state and regional levels. * Prepares written documents and presentations that support the recommended strategies and outlines the business case for implementing the strategies. * Develops and maintains productive relationships with City staff and leadership, other localities, the regional transportation planning organization, and state and federal agencies to further the City's transportation strategies by securing financial resources for specific projects and the core infrastructure maintenance needs. * Manages projects as assigned by planning for, designing, scheduling and budgeting work processes and related proposals, plans and specifications. Education/Experience Work requires specialized knowledge in a professional or technical field. Work requires professional level of knowledge of a discipline equivalent to that which is acquired in a Bachelor's degree-level of study or equivalent. Five (5) years of experience in progressively responsible transportation assignments, including project development and management. The preferred candidate will possess: * A Master's-level degree. * Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in progressively responsible transportation assignments, including multimodal transportation planning, project development and management. Additional Information & Requirements * Valid Driver's License required. * Work Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is classified as Essential and will be required to work 24-hour shifts during periods of inclement weather or other emergencies.
