Transport & Shipping Coordinator

The Transport & Shipping Coordinator will provide support for the North America Distribution Center's transportation and shipping needs by working closely with warehouse personnel to arrange daily outbound shipments. They will be the point of contact with carriers and forwarders, developing and fostering strong working relationships with them. The hours for this postion are 9:00 am

• 5:30 pm M-F and reports to the NA Distribution Center Manager.

• Contact freight forwarders to arrange pick-ups

• Generate Bills of Lading and manifests

• Schedule carrier pickups

• Interface with internal Customer Care team to address any shipment issues

• Provide frieght quotes and tracking as needed

• Assist with freight damage claims as needed

• Schedule inbound freight deliveries and maintain calendar

• Interface with customer and carrier portals

• Provide support to carrier to address delivery issues

• Supply back-up coverage to other transportation roles

• Other duties as assigned

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required

Relevant Experience:

• Background and demonstrated work experience in shipping or in a warehousing/distribution center environment

Knowledge areas/Skills:

• Good computer skills

• Microsoft Office

• Outlook & Word experience preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with others effectively both verbally and in writing
