Position Summary:

The Quality Manager oversees quality and compliance for the adult solid organ transplant and living donor programs, providing oversight and direction to Transplant and Medical Center leadership and staff to ensure the provision of high quality outcomes through Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities, adverse event evaluation, and by ensuring organizational compliance with all local and national standards related to mandatory licensing, accrediting, and credentialing. Working within the framework of the objectives set forth by the Director of Transplant Services and Medical Center Administration, provides direction, communicates long-term programmatic goals and vision, and provides oversight through open, autonomous, responsive, and consultative relationships with Medical Center departments and leadership in order to ensure organizational compliance with transplant and living donation. Maintains responsibility over policy analyst staff, ensuring adherence with internal policies for safety and compliance, and performs recruitment/hiring, performance evaluations and corrective action. Directs the development, review and approval of all transplant and living donor administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Reviews, evaluates and tracks reports of adverse events and corrective action plans, and works collaboratively with Medical Center Quality, Compliance and Risk Management Departments. Directs audits of operational and fiscal functions and prepares reports and monthly dashboards for review at an organizational level Prepares program-specific annual QAPI plans and reports, and ensures adherence to program goals through the collection and analysis of quality metrics. Represents the Medical Center with regulators, referring payers, and providers during transplant program certification and reviews.

Salary Range:

Annual Rate Minimum $100,600.00 Midpoint $145,700.00 Maximum $190,800.00

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Must have demonstrated prior work experience multitasking in a fast paced environment

Computer skill and experience using MSOffice products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and information systems in general, with the ability to manage and produce charts, tables, and graphs

7+ years of experience in healthcare quality and patient safety with demonstrated ability in design, implementation and sustainment of performance improvement activities in a health care setting including skillful application of continuous quality improvement and patient safety sciences

Exceptional level of professionalism, discretion and the ability to work on highly sensitive and confidential projects

Knowledge of current trends and best practices in healthcare quality improvement and patient safety

Successful track record of effective, team-oriented working relationships with physicians, nurses and other health professionals

Understanding of continuous quality improvement principles and concepts; experience using CQI tools and techniques strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade and interact effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including community leaders, physicians, patients and families

5+ years progressive experience in quality reporting to external and regulatory agencies including experience in developing eCQMs

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment in all situations

Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support(Required)

Registered Nurse(Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING

Experience in Lean Six Sigma as an improvement methodology

Experience in managing participation in voluntary registries

Current Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, CPHQ

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Master's Degree in Business, Nursing, Health Care Administration or a related field
