POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transplant Administrator has advance and diverse clinical knowledge and skills and functions in the capacity of clinician, educator, researcher, collaborator, and patient advocate in semi-autonomous, self-directed role. The coordinator utilizes advances interpersonal skills to coordinate, facilitate, plan, implement and evaluate all facets of care for patients and families in the living donor transplant program.
The Transplant Administrator works as a Clinical Administrator and Living Donor Transplant Coordinator and will be the primary monitor for CMS, UNOS and New England Organ Bank policies and procedures, and work with clinicians (surgical and medical) and kidney transplant staff to ensure understanding and compliance. Assist Transplant leadership in the implementation of policies and procedures that meet transplant regulatory requirements and to complete and submit required documentation to UNOS. This position will monitor clinical and regulatory activities and work with the Director of Transplant Services to maintain the highest standards for transplant at Boston Medical Center.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Work requires analytical ability to assess the suitability of patients entering the transplant program, and assess progress of patients who had transplants performed.
Requires interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, families, the health care team and referring staff.
Ability to analyze and solve problems in a systematic, logical, and timely manner.
Ability to work with various types of databases, systems, EMRs, and Windows Office programs, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
