RESPONSIBILITIES:<\ trong="">
We are currently seeking a Transmission Line Engineer <\ trong="">based out of our Madison, WI<\ trong=""> office. The position will perform engineering work with a focus on transmission line design including both civil and electrical practices. Requires knowledge of transmission systems from 34.5kV to 500kV with familiarity with basic principles related to line design and practices related to this specialization.

  • Generate cost effective design for high voltage electrical transmission lines<\ i="">

\t

  • Represent the Engineering department and participate in inter-department meetings<\ i="">

\t

  • Attend meetings with customers as needed to support the Sales department and the engineers<\ i="">

\t

  • Monitor team progress and activities to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget and exceed customer expectations<\ i="">

\t

  • Able to perform transmission line engineering work independently<\ i="">

\t

  • Balance innovation and standardization of work processes<\ i="">

\t

  • Project Engineer level individuals will ensure that projects meet quality and schedule objectives<\ i="">

\t

  • Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by assignments<\ i="">

\t

  • Additional duties as assigned<\ i="">

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\ trong="">

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university<\ i="">

\t

  • Three years of direct experience and proven knowledge in transmission line design<\ i="">

\t

  • Knowledge and understanding of transmission engineering, including routing issues, conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material takeoffs, structure and foundation design<\ i="">

\t

  • Knowledge of engineering standards including but not limited to; NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI and ANSI that apply to transmission design<\ i="">

\t

  • Working knowledge of computer applications (including but not limited to Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat)<\ i="">

\t

  • Candidate must pass a Background and Drug Screening (required)<\ i="">

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:<\ trong="">

  • Professional Engineer license (PE) or ability to be licensed within one year of hire. If registered in a state other than where the engineer will practice, the individual must be able to obtain a license within one year of hire date.<\ i="">

  • Knowledge of common engineering application software, particularly such tools as PLS-CADD<\ i="">

Candidates will be placed in the appropriate job title based on education, years of experience and industry knowledge.
