DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Translates written and verbal communication between NOA, NCL, and other Nintendo subsidiaries and partners

  • Translates confidential e-mail and other written documentation from Japanese to English, and English to Japanese

  • Provides verbal interpretation for meetings and conference calls

  • May require travel to Japan as well as evening work in Pacific Time Zone

SUMMARY OR REQUIREMENTS

  • Five or more years of experience translating documents of a business and technical nature

  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Japanese, including keigo, jargon, slang, and idioms, with basic understanding of technical subject matter

  • Ability to work with highly confidential information

  • Ability to produce high quality results under tight deadlines and fluctuating priorities with minimal supervision

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy and work effectively with all levels of personnel

  • Experience with English and Japanese versions of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Additional experience with Microsoft Visio and Adobe Acrobat preferred

  • Professional training in Translation/Interpretation or equivalent experience

  • Level 1 certification in Japanese Language Proficiency Test required, or

  • Level 1.5 certification or higher English Language Proficiency Test required

(NCL) to build comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter andprioritize translation tasks DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES * Translates and reviews technicaland non-technical documents, web forums, and business correspondences tosupport the accurate and efficient exchange of information using appropriatecultural relevance and etiquette * Interprets for videoconferences and live meetings at both an executive and working-team levelcovering concepts Nintendo's business strategy and detailed technical specifications * Experience translating/interpretingmaterial related to: Functional and business requirements, legal matters (incl.laws/regulations, contracts, IP), user interface and user experience, customer support,technical specifications, manufacturing and repairs, marketing, publicrelations, business development * Technical areas include: programmingconcepts, hardware, operating system and system software, network and platformsecurity, streaming video, web technologies, * Proactively identifiescommunication gaps and needs, and recommends and implements solutions * Partners with internal teamsto build a comprehensive knowledge of projects ensuring effective and timelytranslation * Independently prioritizes andcoordinates translation tasks * Independently proofs andassesses the quality of translation work, and maintains the highest translationand interpretation quality through continuous improvement and learning * May requiretravel to Japan as well as evening work in Pacific Time Zone * Up to 10% domestic andinternational travel.
