Summary

The Translation Unit Manager will build and manage a language department for our US clients as well as manage a variety of positions all supporting language services.

Main Responsibilites

  • Effectively manage a language department team, and all activities within a defined translation unit.
  • Manage resource managers, language coordinators, language leads, and translators.
  • Provide guidance and support to Resource Managers to ensure efficient capacity planning and well-structured resource strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to Language Leads to ensure linguistic client strategies are developed and implemented.
  • Oversee language quality strategy and language quality output.
  • Liaise with the Service Management, Vendor Management, and Sales.
  • Drive and implement change.

Requirements

  • A completed university degree, preferably related to business management or translation services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At minimum 5 years of proven experience in project management and translation/language management in a relevant industry
  • Experience and skill in people management.
  • Experience in managing translation/localization operations and teams, including processes, resources and tools.
  • Proven experience in designing and improving complex processes in a relevant industry.

Ability

  • Must be able to foster relationships and partner successfully with stakeholders to define the roadmap for any vertical.
  • Must be able to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Must be able to drive and own all activities within the translation unit.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to deal with ambiguity and juggle multiple assignments and deadlines associated with working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Must have an exceptional ability to establish instant credibility.
  • Must be a leader who speaks and acts with the confidence only gained through experience.
  • Must have a proven ability to make things happen.

We are currently looking for an exceptional Business Unit Controller in our Agriculture Division. This position establishes economic, financial, and strategic objectives for the division. Incumbent provides financial counsel on major business decisions and controls and safeguards division assets. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Position reports to the Natural Resources Sector Controller. Primary Duties: * Responsible for the integrity of division's financial statements. * Understands and communicates division's financial results and trends to division management team (GM, Functional Directors, Business Unit Directors) and Corporate Finance. Recommends appropriate course of action when results differ from plan. * Develops quarterly forecast and annual budgets and updates forecasts as appropriate throughout time period. * Actively involved in acquisition planning, due diligence, and integration. * Actively involved in division's resource planning. * Actively involved in developing and analyzing division's product and market development plans. * Works with division management in developing pricing policies. * Develops working capital initiatives that maximize division's return on inventory and receivables. * Develops receivable initiatives jointly with Corporate Treasury. * Reviews and approves division's capital expenditures to assure compliance to division's goals and priorities as well as return on investment initiatives. * Reviews major contracts to assure accounting treatment is in accordance with Corporate and US GAAP policy. * Plays a critical role in division's business development needs such as acquisitions or strategic partnering relationships. * Develops formal and ad hoc reports & dashboards that are required by division management in running the business. Key Organizational Interfaces: * Corporate executive management team. * Sector VP/GM and senior management. Education: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. * MBA strongly preferred. * CPA is beneficial. Experience: * Minimum 7 years in the accounting profession. * Minimum 3 years in a management capacity. Characteristics / Skills: * Deep and current understanding of accounting procedures, i.e. U. S. GAAP, SEC reporting and particularly revenue recognition practices. * Strong Excel and financial modeling skills. * Strong analytical and planning experience in a global, publicly traded company. * Ability to work with executive management in confidently articulating and driving financial and operational strategies. • Possess solid understanding of financial impact of business decisions. * Ability to define and achieve business goals, and to drive to resolution on critical issues. * Ability to communicate across business functions and divisions. * Solid presentation skills at the executive management level. * Highly developed leadership and management experience and ability to develop talent, e.g., Business Unit Directors' financial acumen. * Extensive knowledge of business systems software and ERP solutions, i.e. Oracle, ASK, Hyperion.
