Transit Services Supervisor
As the Transit Services Supervisor you will oversee infrastructure support by managing transit information technology and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of IT professionals and creating collaborative relationships with Transit Administration and the City IT department. Additionally, as Transit Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing facility assets, including the development and maintenance of ADA transition plans and project management standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT and experience managing assets, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Essential Job Functions- the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Manage Transit Information Technology staff, in collaboration with City IT departments; create, review, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures; stay up to date with the latest trends
Create collaborative relationships between the Transit IT team and Transit Administration as well as the City IT department and other stakeholders.
Manage information technology assets including, specialized applications and intelligent transit technology, cellular phones, PC's, monitors, cameras, and tablets
Select, develop, direct, motivate, and evaluate assigned staff; provide and/or coordinate staff training; and work with employees to obtain successful and positive outcomes
Monitor team workflow; review and evaluate procedures and work product, and meet with reporting staff to identify and resolve operational or procedural problems
Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations; set policies and procedures to ensure activities are carried out by sound practices and with proper internal controls
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:
Transit operations, funding, planning, and rules and regulations
Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulation
Principles and practices of various transit systems
Ability to:
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices
Prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Provide excellent supervisory skills needed to manage and direct operational services
Successful candidates will have
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, business administration, or another related area of study
Five years of full-time, professional experience in information technology, transit, asset management, or a related field
A minimum of three years of supervisory experience
One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
Ideal candidates will also have
Experience with operations related to facilities management and information technology.
Experience with project management
Knowledge of transit operations, funding, planning, and rules and regulations

The City of Colorado Springs offers additional compensation depending on the position, area of assignment, and specific job assignments, including shift differential, pay differential, acting or lead, special assignment, hazard pay, longevity, cell phone allowance, uniform allowance, relocation, awards, standby, call out, compensatory time off, tuition, overtime, extra duty, incentive, holiday premium, proficiency, and vacation sell back.
