UPS is seeking a dynamic Senior Program Project and Process Support Manager to ensures largest and most complex programs and projects follow the project management discipline (i.e., initiation, planning, executing, controlling and monitoring, and closing) and internal project management standards, ultimately leading to desired results (i.e., revenue generation, cost savings, cost avoidance, and benefits to the organization). He/She manages large scale projects, provides project management expertise and support to the organization, develops project teams and individuals, and promotes the value of structured project management. This position oversees others within the department.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides Project Management (PM) discipline and methodology to large projects to ensure proper governance, oversight, strategic alignment, and project success

  • Facilitates initiation and planning of projects to determine project scope (e.g., objectives, resources, milestones, risks, communications, etc.) from high level to task level

  • Applies PM discipline and tools in execution and close-out of projects to provide structure to projects spanning large, diverse, and geographically dispersed teams

  • Monitors and controls projects throughout the project life cycle to ensure constraints (e.g., timing, scope, costs, etc.) are managed

  • Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Performance Management, Career Development, Succession Planning, Salary Administration, Training, Staffing, etc.) to ensure the day to day administration of processes and formal procedures

  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development

  • Champions the PM Center of Excellence program (e.g., talks to other groups, imparts knowledge, etc.) to raise awareness of PM discipline and build upon PM skills throughout the organization

  • Identifies stakeholder groups supporting governance and project activity to apply a structured PM approach to their activities

  • Gathers information on PMO models to better understand PMOs and enhance the PMO program

  • Develops and executes project change management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops & executes project communication management plans for moderately complex & medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Selects, develops & executes project financial management plans for moderately complex & medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops and executes project integration management plans for moderately complex & medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops and executes project measurement, performance & results management plans for moderately complex & medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops and executes project quality management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops and executes project risk management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops and executes project scope management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops and executes project time management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Develops and executes project value management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs

  • Uses in-depth techniques to uncover new information or details that are not readily available; selects techniques and strategies that are appropriate for the audience; chooses techniques that result in more accurate and thorough information; implements strategies that minimize biases and preconceived ideas

  • Independently conducts standard analyses to identify problems in methods, processes, or workflow; interprets results of analyses; recommends solutions to address identified requirements, problems, or inefficiencies

  • Identifies root causes of recurrent workflow failures; estimates time and cost to implement new work methods, processes, and flows; recommends design changes to basic work methods, processes, and flows
