Transfer Station Attendant / Operator

Alaska Waste has an immediate position available for an Operator/Attendant at our Transfer Station in Seward, AK. Your days off will vary but the shift will be 4 days per week, 8am-6pm.
In addition to running a forklift you will be trained to run other equipment such as frond end loaders, skid steer, as well as driving roll- off and tractor trailer around the yard. On top of equipment operating you will also work with the public and will assist with cleaning and labor duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, and other medium to heavy equipment in accordance with all OSHA, state and federal requirements
Regularly inspecting equipment, and performing minor repairs and maintenance as required
Safety of vehicle, equipment, and load Moving waste from the Transfer Site collection area to transfer trailer in preparation for transport to the Landfill
Ensuring all customer interactions by Operator are polite and courteous; may be required to greet, direct, discuss issues, and educate customers of onsite rules and restrictions
Following all appropriate safety guidelines and precautions, wearing required safety gear, and maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times
Performing other duties as assigned.
