Avery Dennison's Corporate Tax Department is looking for a high potential transfer pricing professional as we expand our transfer pricing team. This newly created position would provide support for various transfer pricing strategy projects and also serve as the liaison with the TP reporting team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Transfer Pricing Strategy (60-80%)

  • Develop and manage transfer pricing analyses of moderate complexity to support TP strategy projects and risk assessment processes

  • Maintain regular relationships with the business units to maintain contemporaneous information pertinent to the current projects

  • Assist with maintaining and improving TP policies and intercompany agreements

  • Collect and assist with the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and reporting results required under BEPS initiatives

  • Collaborate with the regional tax teams on various TP strategy projects

  • Support the review and resolution of transfer pricing audits and tax reserve analysis

  • Manage large teams of advisors supporting key technical issues for the Company including ensuring the quality of underlying data used for the analysis by the advisors

  • Coordinate with a large team of regional tax members on regional TP projects and maintain consistent TP data set throughout the global Avery organization

  • Monitor changes in tax law as they affect the transfer pricing strategy of the Company

  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

  • Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational TP policies

  • Identifies applications of TP knowledge and existing TP methodologies to resolve problems to meet long-range goals and objectives of the Company

  • Transfer Pricing Reporting (20-40%)

  • Be the first level substantive reviewer of the TP documentations and supporting files developed by the TP Operations team to ensure the TP strategy is correctly reported in the financial data

  • Maintain regular communication with the TP Operations team and coordinate for timely delivery of the deliverables

  • Manage multiple advisors in ensuring timely deliverables and the quality of underlying data used for the analysis by the advisors

  • Monitor changes in tax law as they affect the transfer pricing reporting requirement for the Company

  • Assist with annual TP-related disclosure requirements for the tax return

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 5+ years of transfer pricing, international tax, or similar experience

  • JD or MBA preferred but not required

  • Strong excel skills and financial modeling skills

  • Strong relationship-building interpersonal skills - collaborative team player

  • Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents in different time zones, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities

  • 2 to 4 weeks of international travel per year may be needed

  • Detail oriented and able to manage complex process
