Job Description

The Summer Transfer Driver will be responsible for loading and unloading of all retail, rental and non-inventory product on transfer vehicles. They will be responsible for meeting transfer schedules and operating vehicles to company standard.

Essential Job Functions

• Pick up and deliver bikes, retail transfers and other items between Rental/Retail stores, the Warehouse and other designated Aspen Skiing Company and external locations

• Carefully load bikes in an organized fashion by all team members to prevent damage to rental equipment.

• Sorts and organizes bikes and helmets according to appropriate destination

• Loads trucks, organizing to maximize available space. Unloads trucks at destinations

• Records pickup and delivery information in appropriate log sheets and software (NetSuite)

• Maintains safe practices as transfers are done on varying road conditions and in busy, congested areas.

• Maintains truck logs according to state and federal regulations

• Maintains telephone contact with supervisor and team members

• Recognizes emergency situations and performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires and installing fuses

• Cleans insides of trucks

• Balance team and individual responsibilities by working with the Rental/Retail team. Remain dependable and adaptable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Must have a valid, current, unrestricted Driver's License

• Previous experience driving large box truck is preferred

Supervision Given and Received

Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Supervision received: Works under direct supervision of the Transfer Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, see, hear, sit, drive a shuttle/car for extended periods of time; squat, kneel and bend

• Regularly work/drive in adverse weather conditions. Frequently drive in bright sunlight and at night. Exposure to noises that cause distraction and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces

• Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
