Transfer Center Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:

The Transfer Center Nurse will function out of the Throughput Operations Center providing critical and timely prioritization and successfully guiding referring facilities to the appropriate physician. In an effort to provide complete satisfaction, the nurse should accurately listen and respond appropriately to requests made by transferring physicians, hospitals and peers.

The Transfer Nurse Specialist should give high priority to customer service. The nurse will manage multiple responsibilities including transfer center logistics for patients being transferred into the health system. This role will maintain compliance with EMTALA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered RN (or eligible), Bachelors degree in Nursing with one year hospital-based experience or Associates degree in Nursing with three years of hospital-based experience required. Excellent organizational skills, critical thinking skills and ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Exceptional customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Acute care RN experience in Emergency Services or Critical Care preferred.

Work Days:

Nights some weekends and holidays
