The TRAM Painter is responsible for safely cleaning, sandblasting, prepping and painting company and customer owned equipment and all related parts and components. Creating machine decals by use of computer programs used to print and cut all styles of safety, operation, information and identification as needed. Installation of all decals at all store locations across the state which requires periodic travel. Must have the ability to schedule work flow in an efficient and timely manner.
Safe operation of company equipment
Perform duties in a timely manner to meet store and customer deadlines.
Maintain the up keep of the paint booth, paint shop, decal cutting room, mixing booth and all related tools and equipment within.
Must have the ability to take a company or customer job from start to finish without constant supervision or guidance.
Maintain a clean and safe environment in the paint bay, sandblast bay, wash bay and surrounding areas.
Coordinate workflow through rental stores along with new company owned equipment and its preparation for distribution throughout the state.
Facilitate the workflow to remove the used equipment from the fleet and make ready for liquidation.
Valid drivers' license (driving record must meet company insurance standards; driving record is reviewed annually)
Must be able to read, speak and understand English.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Must understand operating instructions for all company owned machines.
Shall be required to read and understand maintenance and service procedures for all cleaning, painting, blasting and shop tools used.
Above average computer skills for the design and creation of equipment decals.
Must be able to work in a safe manner as to avoid harm to themselves and others.
Knowledge of various paints, thinners, spray in bed liners, chemicals and all associated additives used in the day to day operation of the paint facility.
Must be able to pass required fork lift training class, Aerial work platform operation training and loading and unloading equipment certification.
Must have a good knowledge of the safety, hazards and first aid precautions of all different products.
Must have experience in proper preparation of all surfaces to be primed and/or painted to obtain a quality finish.
Must possess a good knowledge of all types of heavy equipment for safe operation in shops and yard locations.
Must be capable of using the various types of cleaning, blasting, and painting equipment such as high-pressure steam cleaner, high pressure pneumatic blast equipment, paint spraying equipment, electric and pneumatic surface preparation tools.
Use of standard personal protective gear as well as extreme protective gear.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Walk / stand 8 hours on concrete floor that may be very warm or cold.
Exposed to all weather conditions/temperatures, noise, grease, oil, dirt, steam and all types of paints, thinners, additives.
Use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
Use feet frequently for repetitive movement
Frequently bend, squat and climb
Comply with all company safety requirements and wear all personal protective equipment when required.
