Duties

Summary

You will serve as a TRAINING TECHNICIAN (MODELING AND SIMULATIONS) in the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.
Responsibilities

You will plan and operate simulations in support of training events to include simulations database construction and management, exercise control support, simulations testing, and simulation federation operations.
You will plan and operate simulations to command, control, communications, and computer (C4) equipment interfaces.
You will instruct maneuver simulation models in support of live, virtual and constructive environments.
You will identify simulation training, equipment, and contractor resources that are required in support of simulation supported events.
You will research and implement new technology capable of modeling technology employed in modern-day battlefields.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You may be required to attend experiments and training exercises, which could require considerable amounts of standing and walking.
You will be required to set-up and breakdown modeling and simulations equipment which will require lifting, bending, stooping, reaching and crouching.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: administering, instructing, and maintaining simulation models in support of simulation events.

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, coordinating, integrating, and operating simulation models.

In lieu of specialized experience, an applicant may qualify based on one of the following conditions:

GS-07:
I have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education.
OR
I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement.

plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

GS-09:
I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.

This position may require travel to Crane, IN for training and business purposes. The Engineering Technicians will be responsible for conducting the JLTV Operator New Equipment Training (OPNET) using technical manuals, operation and training manuals and SL-3s. The Engineering Technicians are expected to obtain and present data to recommend changes as necessary and will review JLTV specific training materials provided. The training materials provided will include JLTV operator course curriculums, Training Program Structure Document (TPSD), Lesson Plans, Student Guides, Media, JLTV Operator Course Test Package and syllabus. The Engineering Technicians will also assist in the logistics of inventory management for vehicles and equipment required for JLTV training.
