Corteva Agriscience,Agriculture Division of DowDuPont is recruiting for a Training Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for providing training to hourly and salaried employees at the Cherokee Production Location. You will ensure all employees have a thorough understanding of Corteva's safety and quality standards and are able to apply learning's to their daily responsibilities. You will also ensure that location employees are trained on continuous improvement as well as Quality Management System procedures. As the Training Technician, you will be responsible for all aspects of the technical training requirements to include the development of new training materials, maintaining the training calendar, performing the physical training, and coordination of training events.
In this position, you'll work primarily in a production office setting with regular interaction taking place in a high traffic & activity plant/warehouse areas, plus visits to field locations. The role is primarily on day shifts but possible shift work and weekend work could be required during seasonal peaks. Occasional travel within the network may also be required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Determine training needs and requirements for the location on the following topics: safety, health and environment; continuous improvement, QMS and process work instructions.
Lead the training, communication and education efforts, with enthusiasm, energy and believability in what you are training.
Develop and implement training programs for employees on a variety of safety subjects, including occupational safety and health, fire protection, etc. Will assist in developing new process training aids when needed (i.e. Visual Work Instructions, Standard Operating Conditions, Standard Work, Troubleshooting Guides, and Standard Operating Procedures) as well as auditing their use.
Will also serve as a backup in the absence of the subject matter expert in safety, QMS, etc.
Administrative duties including taking safety meeting minutes, JSAs, SOPs & tracking employee training requirements.
Ensure the completeness and maintenance of all records, documents or reports related to assigned safety and health programs.
May assist with preparation of reports, graphs, and presentation materials to communicate key safety statistics.
May conduct safety training at locations.
Will lead efforts as assigned by management which include Process Improvement activities. Ensure safety programs are implemented. Promote employee awareness of safety through training, publications, and safety statistics.
Assist with basic industrial hygiene functions such dosimeter & dust monitoring. Assist with required programs inspections (i.e. emergency lighting, eye wash) and visual inspection requirements (i.e. ladders, fall protection, fire extinguishers).
New Employee Orientation:
Handle onboarding of new employees and contractors to ensure a thorough understanding of policies and procedures.
May conduct tours as well as hands on training of equipment operations.
Reiterate the importance of Life Saving Rules and Core Values.
Act as liaison with Agencies regarding training requirements. Communicate with and ensure contract agencies are training their employees on the required policies and procedures.
Perform audits of required skill sets to identify training needs and skill levels. May assist in incident Investigation and Safety Audits when necessary. May coordinate 1st party audit process at location and be a member of the Risk Management 2nd party audit process.
Support location in record-keeping of Occupational Safety & Health programs and other certifications for regulatory compliance. This includes managing training attendance and records retention.
The following are required:
HS Diploma/GED equivalent.
Demonstrated skills in training, coaching, and leading others in a group setting.
Ability to influence without direct authority.
Creativity is needed to keep materials interesting and fresh. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into easily understood training content.
