Job Description Summary
GE Healthcare (GEHC) delivers advanced medical devices that improve healthcare around the world. Training field engineers, clinicians, and customers how to use and repair the devices effectively is a competitive advantage. Developing world-class training is needed to meet that training competitive advantage. This role is a project management role and includes creating and maintaining training standards for development and deployment. The focus will be related to technical service training with some work in the area of customer clinical applications training and commercial training. Educating global teams of trainers about the standards, measuring implementation and providing dashboards for leadership presentations about progress is included.
Job Description
Apply Strategy and Methodology
Work with the Principal Learning Architect and other members of the Training Strategy and Technology team to understand and implement new or modified methods of learning and development.
Develop and Communicate Standards
Run Learning Program development assessments / evaluations and provide feedback to designers and instructors.
Create standard operating processes for Instructional Design of technical service training programs and influence other types of training teams such as commercial and clinical applications.
Implement New Strategies and Methods
Teach instructional designers how to implement new methods in their learning development program.
Teach instructors and modality program managers how new methods will affect their classes.
Lead some instructional design group meetings.
Deliver Instructional Design & Development
Lead Instructional Design efforts on key next generation (aka Mars Shot) learning projects.
Fill Instructional Designer gaps in various modalities.
Communicate status and methods to global Learning Development teams.
Lead Teams to Deliver New Training Projects
Plan execution of projects
Plan integration of new technology into training
Provide detailed weekly project execution status
Create and deliver project status presentations to leadership
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in education, Instructional Design Certification, or 5 years of experience in Adult Education, STEM Programs or similar
Demonstrated experience leading projects, working across functions, and delivering results.
Demonstrated ability working with Adult learning concepts and methods
Ability to communicate effectively
PREFERENCES:
2 years experience with Instructional Design
Fluent with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Powerpoint.
Some experience with project planning tools.
Knowledge of adult learning training concepts and methods
Experience working in a global environment.
Experience with Technical / Engineering learning environment
Experience with multiple modalities at a medical device manufacturer
Knowledge about new technologies including Augmented Reality (AR), Simulations, artificial intelligence (AI) and Virtual Machines (VM)
