Training Specialist

Summary:
. Responsible for the development and coordination of training department-wide, both new hire and training initiatives, which includes delivery of training and coaching supervisors on the development of individual performance improvement plans. This position acts as a resource for providing training support, guidance, and eLearning opportunities for employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses for each area

  • Translate requirements into trainings that will groom employees for the next step of their career path

  • Build annual training program and prepare teaching plans

  • Develop or oversee the production of handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals

  • Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results

  • Acclimate new hires to the business and conduct orientation sessions that is role specific

  • Deliver training courses

  • Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behavior

  • Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes

  • Stay abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development

  • Develop and maintain exceptional knowledge of the company's products and services, including billing methods, regulatory restrictions, sub-meter rate options, CAP's, Utility Expense Management, customer service and account management, utility alerts, pre-bill process, custom reporting service and web tools/reports

  • Develop and deliver presentations to clients and senior management

  • Forge strong relationships and collaborative partnerships with new and existing client contacts, as well as internal stakeholders, and team members

  • Make recommendations on process improvement that will aid the department in meeting its goals and objectives

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • BS degree in Education, Training, HR or related experience

  • Experience in property management and/or utility fields preferred

  • Project management experience preferred but not required

  • Adult Learning Principles and theories required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and written/verbal communication skills required

  • Strong organizational skills, and a high level of attention to detail required

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment dealing with complex issues on an on-going basis required

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and in a group

  • Must be deadline driven, and goal oriented

  • Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a corporate setting

  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles

  • Proven ability to master the full training cycle

  • Adequate knowledge of Adobe Captivate or Articulate programs

  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques

  • Sound decision making and organizational skills

  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences

Working Conditions:

Regular office hours are to be maintained. The corporate office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST. However, it is expected that the candidate work the hours necessary to ensure the departmental tasks are completed according to established deadlines.

It will require extensive travel to partner call centers, averaging up to 80%, much of it overnight and outside of the employee’s home area (domestic w/possible international). Employee must be able to cover their non-airfare travel expenses prior to reimbursement (processed weekly).</p> <p>Responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>On-site instructor-led classroom workshops, including, but not limited to, call center agent trainings, computer-based virtual trainings and webinars, Train-the-Trainer (T3) onboarding and continuing education efforts, side-by-side/one-on-one instruction for agents, coaches, team leads, supervisors, managers, and SME's.</li> <li>Content creation, development, and management, as well as customer-facing relationship-management will be required as well. Execution of contests/promotions, premium/giveaways, and table days promoting AT&amp;T services at each assigned partner call center location.</li> </ul> <p><br></p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at each essential function, which include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver AT&amp;T-related product and service trainings to assigned Live-in-Person and Web-Based call-center audiences (domestic and international) in a dynamic, energetic, personable, engaging, intelligent yet entertaining fashion.</li> <li>Design, develop, modify, update, and deliver customized &amp; generic AT&amp;T-provided product and industry-related training programs and modules, for products, services, and promotions including, but not limited to, AT&amp;T Wireless, DIRECTV, and AT&amp;T High-Speed Internet.</li> <li>Help build, update, and maintain sales &amp; training presentations (PowerPoint, videos, etc.), job aids, reference material, and other pertinent digital vehicles for learning optimization across all assigned platforms and audiences – with primary focus on AT&amp;T wireless, DIRECTV and U-verse video, and High-Speed internet services, products, technologies, and sales skills/techniques.</li> <li>Ability to gain insight and formulate patterns within each assigned partner audience to bring a unified training message throughout our programs.Other responsibilities as assigned.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS</p><p>Required Experience/Knowledge Base:</p><ul> <li>Clear, dynamic, &amp; precise communication skills to all levels of employees, from entry-level agents to C-level executives, both inside and outside our organization.</li> <li>Wireless (cellular), satellite/cable television, high-speed internet, and/or consumer electronics sales experience.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of presentation and training curriculum development specifically related to call-center environments.</li> <li>Proficiency in many forms of audience-driven content creation, design, and delivery, especially Microsoft’s PowerPoint, with a detailed eye towards designing and delivering slides for clear, classroom projection.</li> <li>The qualified candidate should be able to create and deliver clear, engaging, aesthetically formatted, and properly animated PowerPoint content with quickness and ease.</li> <li>Extraordinary attention to details in content creation and language nuance.</li> </ul><p>Computer Skills:</p><ul> <li>Required: Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook); strong computer proficiency, web conferencing (ex. GoToMeeting, Zoom, Skype), and A/V setup and troubleshooting skills (projector setup, TV and audio systems, etc.).</li> <li>Highly Preferred: Cloud-based content storage, organization, and file sharing expertise.</li> <li>Preferred: Adobe Creative Suite, LMS, call center software (call answering, ticketing, and reporting) and general audio/video editing software and know-how.</li> </ul><p>Other Requirements:</p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field (ex.
