WANTED: Training Specialist for Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc. Child Care Resource & Referral. 40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits including IPERS. Position is based in Remsen. Responsibilities include: coordinating child care provider training opportunities; writing and approving training curriculum and completing reports. An Associate's degree in Early Childhood or Child Development Associate credential in Infant Toddler, Preschool or Family Childcare. Formal education in adult learning or two years experience in delivering successful adult education preferred. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development Associate credential in Infant Toddler, Preschool or Family Childcare.

  • Formal education in adult learning or two years experience in delivering successful adult education preferred.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement CCR&R Training Policies & Procedures to assure statewide consistency.

  • Coordinate face to face, virtual and online training opportunities through collaboration with training entities and independent trainers, including but not limited to Child Care Collaborative of Iowa, Child Care Nurse Consultant, and Early Childhood Iowa.

  • Complete an annual regional training needs assessment and training plan; adapt to changes as they occur.

  • Schedule trainings according to the training plan, including and not limited to: contracting with instructors, securing locations and ensuring instructors are able to gain access.

  • Review and monitor training budget based on approved regional training plan.

  • Plan and coordinate symposiums, conferences, and workshops funded by Early Childhood Iowa contracts

  • Provide regional support to Agency level staff around technical assistance implementation on specified topics

  • Plan and prepare instructor for training implementation to include, but not limited to content and classroom management support, curriculum delivery kits, audio visual supplies, participant manuals, and fiscal contracts

  • Approve instructor and curriculum applications that meet CCR&R Training Policy & Procedures.

  • Maintain instructor files.

  • Coordinate with PD Coordination team annually to plan statewide virtual and online training plan that supplements the identified CCR&R core trainings

  • Schedule and manage the identified CCR&R core trainings that are offered face to face regionally.

  • Recruit regional providers to attend trainings included on the statewide virtual and online training plan.

  • Attend and advocate for childcare specific training needs during planning meetings for area symposiums and conferences.

  • Assist Agency staff and providers with developing individualized professional development plans.

  • Create and implement a training marketing plan as needed.

  • Manage participant enrollments and attendance in DHS I-Power online database.

  • Manage attendance and process certificates for all trainings.

  • Complete and submit data for reports promptly.

  • Maintain a positive customer service relationship with providers, staff and outside agencies.

  • Attend agency, statewide and community meetings as requested.

  • Plan and coordinate with statewide PD Coordination team to offer instructor professional development annually.

  • Coordinate with statewide Professional Development Coordination team to update identified core curriculums annually.

  • Coordinate with statewide Professional Development Coordination Team to maintain adequate supply of participant manuals and curriculum kits.

  • Support the Professional Development Coordination Team in all other duties as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have valid drivers license, insurance and reliable transportation, and maintain a good driving record.

  • Submit to a Motor Vehicle Records check before hire and annually thereafter.

  • Submit to an FBI National Criminal History Record check upon employment and every four years thereafter.

  • Submit a Health and Human Services Criminal History and a Request for Child Abuse Information records check before hire and every two years thereafter.

  • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, crawl on the floor and occasionally stand 4 hours at a time.

  • Ability to complete job duties with reasonable accommodations.
