The Training Specialist 1 partners with the site SME's, functional teams and global teams to develop training documentation, including system hierarchy, functional system responsibilities, and technical reports; develops job function tools. They will support the QARA organization and will be responsible for monitoring and metrics reporting.

Additionally, the Training Specialist will serve as an LMS administrator providing support of the day-to-day ongoing operations, curriculum processing and management, system usage, analysis, and site administration of the LMS. They will provide basic instructional design and content development for assigned training needs.

Course Management

  • 50%
  • Develop, establish and maintain compliant quality assurance systems, processes and procedures in support of course delivery in both SmartSolve and Learning Unlimited.

  • Maintains complete and up-to-date electronic and paper course records in compliance with standards set by global policy & procedure

  • Partnering with SME's to evaluate Learning Plans and develop training for personnel

  • Collaboration with various functions to evaluate and prepare role-based curricula and deploy Learning Plans in the LMS

  • Partnering with Contractor Services and GBS/IT teams to onboard new temporary employees into Smith and Nephew LMS

Course Development and Delivery

  • 20%
  • Working with process owners and document authors to prepare information and materials to be used in conducting and/or facilitating training, meetings or seminars, including lesson plans, training guides, participant manuals, videos, slides and other materials.

  • Determines development needs through annual review surveys, interviews, or other sources; reviews and updates learning plans accordingly

  • Develop fundamental working knowledge of Articulate 360

  • Conduct SmartSolve Training

  • Develop and Present Annual Manager Training Review

  • Schedules and coordinates training classes, workshops, seminars, conferences or meetings as needed.

  • Conducts classroom or other types of training using adult education and training principles and techniques; evaluates results and makes changes or adjustments as needed

Department Support

  • 20%
  • Develop, track and regularly report metrics around key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Facilitate resolution of quality and operational issues in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate communication with internal cross functional teams for quality issues.

  • Provide exceptional leadership skills to the organization including the training of internal / site training personnel.

  • Internal and External audit support

Requirements

  • Travel
  • Up to 10% domestically
  • Education
  • Bachelor's in Communication, Education, computer technology, training development, instructional systems design or related discipline required.
  • Experience -

  • A minimum of 1-year work experience in corporate training required.

  • Training in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Training experience in a regulated industry is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience with LMS (Learning Management Systems).

  • Knowledge of and experience with e-learning authoring tools is highly desired.

  • Instructional design and /or training creation experience preferred.

  • Competencies -

  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills; ability to write superior written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to work effectively with others as well as independently.

  • Skillful ability to gather, analyze, interpret and present data.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients and customers. (Able to adjust style based on audience.)

  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, email, etc.)

  • Proven planning & organizing skills

This position will provide mentoring for students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO) as well as participate in curriculum design and development. The selected candidate must demonstrate the knowledge and skills applicable for obtaining radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAA air traffic control facilities within the U.S. National Airspace System. The selected candidate will support En Route training requirements at the Memphis Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZME) in Memphis, FL.<br /> <strong>Qualifications: </strong><br /> - The CTC Instructor candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years Certified Professional Controller experience controlling live traffic, or recent experience as a contract instructor at an FAA air traffic facility.
