Job Title: Training Specialist
Location: NorthPark Facility in St. Paul, MN, US
The Training Specialist position is designed to enhance the competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training activities that will boost employee's workplace performance in terms of process adherence, part quality, and productivity. The Training Specialist is responsible for performing training needs assessments, onboarding new employees, designing and delivering hands-on training, and providing quality-based assessments and interventions as needed. In addition, this position assembles small parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a cell unit following established procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Interview and on-boarding process for new employees.
Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses of employees on the production floor.
Translate requirements into training activities that will prepare employees for the next step of their career path.
Build training programs specific to equipment and processes.
Collaborate with engineering departments during development and release of new products to establish standardized work instructions.
Provide backup Assembly Lead support.
Sets up and operates equipment in the assembly area.
Performs repetitive operations as specified on Production Orders and explained in Work Instructions, Procedures, and Assembly Prints. Follows and completes required documentation of work performed under general supervision.
Participates in continuous improvement.
Performs other job duties and/or projects to meet business needs.
Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:
Required Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing process controls and ability to assess compliance.
Sound decision-making and organizational skills.
Ability to present complex information to individuals possessing a range of skill and experience.
Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and Environment, Health, and Safety team members.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Preferred Job Qualifications:
2- or 4-year degree
Proven experience and knowledge of training programs - creation and implementation.
Ergonomics, safety, and continuous improvement knowledge.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices.
