Training Specialist

Key Role:

Provide SME support to the management of a DoD-wide training program, including coordinating with Combatant Commands to ensure USCYBERCOM-assigned forces are trained, certified, and interoperable with other Joint forces. Establish and maintain training and certification standards for the Cyber Mission Force (CMF) and other Joint Cyberspace operations forces enabling USCYBERCOM operations. Assess the effectiveness of training to ensure training meets objectives, reinforces Joint standards, and facilitates the readiness assessment of Cyberspace forces. Develop requirements for collective training and exercise events, including training evaluations assessments and assist with identifying and tracking observations and lessons learned from training and exercise events both internally to USCYBERCOM and across the Joint Force. Develop and provide recommendations to the Joint client regarding strategy, doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures for the joint employment of Cyberspace operations forces. Assist with the coordination and development of Joint mission essential tasks, review of Joint mission essential task lists, and assessing USCYBERCOM's ability to meet the Joint mission essential task list standards. Support the validation of CMF and other USCYBERCOM assigned forces to meet the training the standards necessary to execute Combatant Command Cyberspace operations support requirements effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Joint operation planner, including JOPP, JOPES, and APEX planning formats and guidance
  • 5+ years of experience with training programs
  • 3 years of experience with managing a Joint force trainer, Joint force provider, or Joint force developer
  • 2 years of experience with planning, conducting, or directly supporting Cyber operations at the tactical or operational level, including Joint operations planning in a Combatant Command, such as a geographic CCMD
  • Experience with the Joint event life cycle, including the development of requirements for collective training and exercise events and the integration of a training evaluation and assessment methodology
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with USCYBERCOM J3, 5, or 7

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including being comfortable with informing and advising senior leaders

  • Possession of excellent analyzing and problem-solving skills

Develop and manage curriculum and arrange cryptologic and ISR training for newly-assigned personnel based on their career fields and experience. Continue to develop individuals' cryptologic and analytical expertise and knowledge and familiarity with Air Force ISR tools and initiatives, including critical thinking, advanced analytical techniques, and analytical problem-solving. Identify training requirements and gaps, procure existing training if available or convey new requirements, and assist the client with conveying them to higher headquarters. Coordinate with national, DoD, and service training organizations, as necessary. Assist with the development and application of client innovation capability. Basic Qualifications: * 12+ years of experience as a service cryptologic component intelligence officer, SIGINT analyst, or cryptologic language analyst * 2+ years of experience as unit training branch manager or instructor, formal technical instructor, national agency adjunct faculty, instructor rated operator or operational evaluator, or military language instructor * Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint * Knowledge of the Air Force service cryptologic component and national cryptologic enterprise, intelligence community, Joint, and DoD intelligence structures, organizations, missions, functions, inter-relationships, operations, and capabilities * Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph * AA or AS degree Additional Qualifications: * Experience as a training curriculum developer * Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills * BA or BS degree preferred; MA or MS degree a plus * Completion of Military Cryptologic Continuing Education Program (MCCEP) Phase 3 or Phase 4 * Completion of the Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC) * Completion of Remote Interactive Operator Training (RIOT) * Graduate of a Cryptologic 3-year internship, including Middle Enlisted Cryptologic Career Advancement Program (MECCAP) or Joint Officers Cryptologic Career Program (JOCCP) * Service Technical Instructor, Academic Instructor, or National Cryptologic School Adjunct Faculty Certification Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
