Lockheed Martin's Training & Logistics business area

delivers training and simulation technologies, as well as live

training, to defense and civil customers worldwide.

Lockheed Martin's advanced flight training services provide

training to military aviators, commercial pilots and

astronauts. Our F-35 Pilot Training and ALIS Programs are

doing some very important work which offer some very

interesting challenges and opportunities for both former

Military Aviators and IT professionals.

Position is the F-35 Operations Manager and L-coded manager for operations personnel supporting F-35 contract training at Luke AFB. Supervises subordinate managers for Pilot Training Operations, Simulator Operation/Maintenance and Training Operations Support.

Directs and coordinates the daily activities to provide contract F-35 training across the site at the Academic Training Center (ATC) and the flying squadrons. Serves as the primary contract management interface with the customer for contract ground training and scheduling execution and quality. Insures that the day-to-day training instruction and support functions comply with the contract.

Resolves contract issues with the customer (56 FW) and the prime contractor (LM Aero). Maintains direct communications with customer leadership and provides contract performance metrics as required. Insures LM site employee compliance with LM training requirements and resolves employee personnel issues. Maintains basic F-35 Contract Instructor Pilot qualification and certifies all initial Contract Instructor Pilots.

Plans for expected expansion of contract activities and proposes staffing levels and position updates. Directs operations to stay within given budgets. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the Lockheed Martin training teams at Eglin, Lemoore, & Beaufort to fulfill F-35 training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies as directed.

Basic Qualifications

Position requires demonstrated leadership skills and extensive professional experience in managing operations personnel supporting customer mission readiness at dedicated training and operational installations. Candidate must have a minimum of 1000 hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft.

Former Instructor Pilot (IP). Candidate must have active secret clearance and be able to qualify and hold a SAP clearance. Candidate must have prior experience in delivering Military Pilot Academic and Simulator Training. Candidate must have operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as NVS, LANTIRN, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and the latest weapons inventory.

Candidate must be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods. Must have in-depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft systems. Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature.

Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required. Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction. Must be a proven leader with management style aligned to LM core values and Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives. Must have experience in evaluating personnel's performance and in completing performance appraisals.

The successful candidate will support the sustainment, maintenance, and operations of F-35 training devices. Install components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and customer facilities. Perform, conduct, and document preventive maintenance checks required for the devices and associated subsystems. Update maintenance data collection records and assist with the installation and check-out of hardware, software and network modifications to equipment. Maintain simulation devices to meet availability specifications. Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals or simulator documents. Assist with installations, testing, and maintenance of F-35 software packages. Isolate and report malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable levels. Documents and maintains cabling schemes and drawings. Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor manuals. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of Lockheed Martin training team on site to fulfill F-35 training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed. Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with JSF program and customer procedures. Sanitize all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, Etc.) to the LRU in accordance with established JSF and customer procedures. The successful candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of diverse nature. Basic Qualifications Candidate must have a final transferrable Secret clearance with a reinvestigation within 5 years. Candidate must hold a Security+ CE certification or be able to obtain one within 6 months from hire date as a condition of continued employment in this position. Candidates must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access as a condition of continued employment in this position. 2-4 years' experience maintaining and troubleshooting training equipment. Proven hardware, software, Network and administration support experience in a training/modeling environment. Ability to read and use technical schematics, drawings and manuals along with other technical material to resolve complex problems. Strong oral/written communications skills. Candidate must be willing to support flexible work hours including shift work to align with customer operational schedule.
