Thompson Thrift is hiring a full-time Training Manager to work out of one of our corporate offices in Indianapolis, IN or Terre Haute, IN.

As a Training Manager, you will be responsible for the assessment, creation, and delivery of training programs that enable team members to meet their potential while developing them to meet the current and future needs of the organization in a manner that meets the Company's quality, process, and business standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Below is an outline of the key responsibilities and duties for this role. This is not an exhaustive list:

  • Assessment, creation, and delivery of programs to develop team members to meet current and future needs of the organization in a manner that meets the Company's quality, process, and business standards.

  • Working with team members and managers to identify skill/knowledge gaps and training needs, develop training courses, curriculum, or materials, and delivery and evaluation of training.

  • Selecting training tools and/or training delivery mechanisms based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted.

  • Coordinating guest trainers or subject matter experts (SMEs).

  • Documenting and maintaining records of team member participation or performance at mandatory training sessions; assessing training effectiveness and modifying programs to improve results.

  • Implementing training and development policies and programs, which may include technical training, management or organizational development, sales training, safety training, train-the-trainer programs, or learning management.

  • Maintaining team member confidence and protecting operations by keeping personnel data confidential.

  • Organizing, overseeing and implementing assigned projects.

  • Ensuring training programs are in place to help team members and management understand and administer all operational, compliance and development standards.

  • Planning, implementing and executing training strategies to improve the overall performance and engagement of team members.

  • Supporting policies and procedures; planning, organizing and rolling out effective team member readiness planning for all positions.

  • Maintaining successful onboarding plans and monitoring active learning for all new team members.

  • Creating and executing yearly training plans for all team members with assigned business unit.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with team members and managers at all levels across the organization.

  • Typically oversees a mix of administrative and/or professional positions.

  • Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results.

  • Active participation in the recruitment and hiring process and regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in education, training, or human resources. Or an equivalent level of education and experience.

  • Four years of relevant experience. Prefer direct experience in a position coordination training and development in a corporate environment.

  • Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to relate well across the organization.

  • Excellent analytical/critical thinking skills.

  • Knowledge and experience in training development, adult learning theories, program design, presentation skills and evaluation.

  • Comfortable with the use of technology to deliver communications and learning using the Microsoft Office products of Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Planning skills.

The employee is regularly required to be mobile and the employee occasionally travels both short and long distances via a variety of conveyances. The employee occasionally performs work on-site at construction work sites, office locations, and/or off-site venues. Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office or remote setting. The noise in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work at construction work sites where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise in the construction work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
