The role of the Training Manager is responsible for the initial teaching and ongoing training related to product knowledge, procedures, and technical skills needed for Pelican employees. They are responsible for the effective creation, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of training and development programs for all employees. Our Training Manager will assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives, identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees, and actively search, creatively design, and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for serving others. They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. Our Training Manager must embody Pelican's Core Values and provide excellent service in all that they do.
A Day in the Life of a Training Manager INCLUDES:
Preparing annual training plan and goals for department
Analyzing training and development needs within the credit union using input from managers, surveys and other appropriate sources to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
Conducting or arranging for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff
Coordinating new hire orientation training sessions for new employees
Developing new programs that reflect the needs of employees, overall competitiveness of the credit union, and that enhance member service
Training Manager Skills and qualifications includes:
BS or BA in Business Administration, Education, Communication, or a related field.
Additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
5 years of financial institution experience to include teller, sales, and lending duties. Must have prior supervisory experience and a minimum of 3 years of organizational training experience in a classroom setting
Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills
Ability to create original content and develop training materials
