readySC is a part of the Economic Development Division of the South Carolina Technical College System. We promote workforce development by providing customized training for new and expanding industries in our state. The primary duty of the Training Instructor is to deliver classroom training per approved training curricula, according to project scope. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Deliver classroom training on topics such as safety, leadership, teambuilding, communication, 5S and lean manufacturing, basic math, basic computer skills, metric conversions, KPIs, inspection for visual defects, work instructions, using various activities and visual aids such as graphs, charts, DVDs and PowerPoints.
Effective use of technology such as laptops and projectors for course delivery.
Prepare delivery/demonstrations, materials, and classroom setup prior to class start.
Ensure that CDC safety guidelines are followed by all participants.
Ensure proper documentation on all class paperwork and handle securely.
Create a positive, safe and supportive learning environment.
Establish interaction with and amongst participants.
Follow prescribed training curriculum, implementing approved revisions as necessary to actively engage participants and maximize learning.
Clearly explain and demonstrate technical skills and concepts.
Reinforce learning by making connections to training objectives and workplace applications.
Provide constructive feedback to participants in a professional and respectful manner.
Respectfully manage basic difficult behaviors in the classroom.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
A bachelor's degree and relevant experience in instructional/training, facilitation and/or production.
Previous experience delivering training in a classroom environment, preferably in industry.
Candidates should be able to work independently, be self-directing, have good verbal and written skills, and be available for flexible training hours.
Familiarity with manufacturing production environments and curriculum development is highly desirable.
Knowledge of adult learning theory.
Knowledge of industry standards and process improvement principles.
Highly competent interpersonal, and communication skills.
Personal Computer skills in the major office applications, e.g. Word, Excel, PPT.
