TRAINING & EDUCATION INTERNSHIP - FALL 2018 - USA RUGBY, LAFAYETTE, CO

Term: Full time, August through December 2018

Compensation: MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE COLLEGE CREDIT/UNPAID

USA Rugby is the national governing body for the sport of rugby in America, and a Full Sport Member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and World Rugby.

Currently headquartered in Lafayette, Colorado, USA Rugby is charged with developing the game on all levels and has over 115,000 active members. USA Rugby oversees four national teams, multiple collegiate and high school All-American sides, and an emerging Olympic development pathway for elite athletes.

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Training & Education Intern.

Overview:
The primary focus of this internship is to support and assist the research, development, and implementation of Training and Education programs, events, and other tasks which contribute to the growth of rugby in the United States. Educational streams include coaching, officiating, strength and conditioning, administrative and medical.

Responsibilities include:

Support Training and Education Department staff in the administration of events such as clinics and educator workshops

Assist in the creation and development of electronic materials and online courses, through the department online learning management system

Assist in daily database operations including but not limited to: clinic postings, membership registrations, and certification

Assist in the creation of promotional materials for clinics and workshops

Assist in research on demographic data, as it pertains to department diversity initiatives and programs

Assist in content development, formatting, and distribution of departmental newsletter

Assist in the planning and implementing of meetings and conferences dedicated to training and education

Assist in the development of an educational presence via a variety of social media platforms

Office administrative tasks such as mailing, inventory, data entry, etc.

Respond to Training and Education inquiries and provide information and resources as requested

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Ability to perform basic database and administrative functions

Experience using Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Must be able to work largely independently and as part of a team

Experience with online learning management systems and course development

Strong customer service and communication skills: written and verbal

Exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking, and prioritization capabilities

Experience with web platform development strongly preferred but not a requirement

Ability to speak a second language a plus but not a requirement

Your day As a Technologist/Technician you need to know how to: * Perform all designated procedures competently, including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Specimen Processing, Blood Bank, and Microbiology when designated. * Set up and perform a variety of technical and complex tests following established procedures. * Recognize and solve problems or determine alternative solutions for analysis if needed and report all deviations from established procedures to the Manager or appropriate Supervisor. * Interpret, correlate and report test results. Verify computer-generated reports. Investigate erroneous test values and informs Supervisor(s) of all irregularities, errors or instrument failures and measures taken to solve. * Perform and document quality control and quality assurance. Document all quality control failures and corrective action taken. Your experience We hire people, not resumes. Completion of 12 consecutive months of internship in an accredited school of medical technology leading to a Bachelor's degree or work experience in a laboratory which qualifies for examination of a national registry As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): High school diploma plus two years training from an accredited program.
