This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County.

TELEWORK AVAILABILITY: We trust our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles; NC Department of Health and Human Services offers work from home options and variable work schedule flexibility for this position.

The Division of Health Benefits requires temporary workers with an approved hybrid telework schedule to work onsite at their assigned duty station at least 4 working days per month. More information on this arrangement may be obtained at the time of the interview.

Hourly Rate: $18.00 to $21.00 (Hourly Rates are based on education, experience, equity, and budget)

Position Overview:

This temporary position is assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) - Division of Health Benefits (DHB). The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Organizational Development (OD) Team. The Organizational Development (OD) team are professionals who are committed to training and development, improving efficiency, and productivity within Medicaid. They develop and facilitate monthly training and education programs for staff. These programs are delivered virtually and in-person.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Arrange meetings, workshops, and other activities including Medicaid Deep Dive preparation and team building events.

  • Schedule training and coordination of internal and external partners/vendors, as needed

  • Assist with the administration and uploading to the teams' SharePoint site and Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Ensure meeting agendas, documents, and materials are accurately prepared and available for meetings and training events.

  • Prepare standard emails for distribution of training materials and recordings to staff.

  • Maintain the training and conference room calendars for the building conference space, including ensuring audio/visual equipment is functional.

  • Work with OD team members to ensure coverage and support of learning events.

  • Complete monthly feedback form to highlight events, participation, and feedback.

  • Create monthly dashboard for Operations Status Meetings.

  • Coordinate travel and expense reimbursements, as needed.

  • Procure office supplies.

  • Submit work orders for building and support as the building safety representative

  • Support the OD team on special projects and other duties that may be assigned.

  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, administrative officials, and the general public

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently, confidentially, and accurately

  • Experience planning and scheduling meetings and appointments for high-level management and staff

  • Ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and language to compose a variety of written materials

  • Strong working knowledge of virtual and in-person meeting technology

Management Preferences:

  • Knowledge of Medicaid and healthcare industry process and procedures

  • Previous working experience within an educational, higher learning, or staff/professional development setting

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
