DFC seeks a Training Coordinator to provide logistical and administrative support services to assist with the daily operations and delivery of a government training program. The Training Coordinator will be a part of a team supporting a continuous learning environment and assisting the client in addressing the development needs of their workforce. Support will include assisting with training technology. Must be willing to be on site part-time in Silver Spring, MD.

What the role requires:

  • Develop and maintain a master training calendar and schedule.

  • Develop and maintain Training Center Operating Procedures and Training Manual.

  • Schedule training and other learning events via Outlook calendar.

  • Act as a point-of-contact for Training Sponsor, vendors and participants, ensuring established policies and processes are followed.

  • Provide logistical support associated with scheduling/coordinating training events including receiving materials, instructor coordination, and facilities support.

  • Provide coordination for setup of presentation equipment, instructor assistance, supply coordination and duplication of course materials if requested.

  • Provide on-site support for distribution of training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids.

  • Develop monthly and bi-monthly training announcements.

  • Maintain training records (e.g. participant lists, schedules, attendance/sign-in sheets).

  • Perform updates to Learning Management System and assist in management of online courses.

  • Resolve issues as they arise onsite.

  • Submit regular reports on training activities with recommendations for improvement.

  • Assist with special projects as needed.

What you need to be successful:

  • 0-2 years of experience in training coordination.

  • Ability to be self-directed and work on tasks requiring analysis, writing, and planning activities with limited guidance.

  • Experience with MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Outlook, MS Excel, and SharePoint 2010.

  • Strong attention to detail; highly organized.

  • Strong research skills.

  • Interest in coordination, presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in teams is required.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to client service excellence.

  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US as sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance.

  • Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates.
