As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the New Shepard Operations and Maintenance training program. The training program definition and execution are critical to ensuring consistent, repeatable, and reliable crew operations. This role includes defining, writing, scheduling, tracking, and evaluating personnel qualifications and certifications for the New Shepard Operations and Maintenance group. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of vehicle operations and maintenance. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Develop and maintain certification paperwork for launch operations and vehicle maintenance roles
Write qualification cards
Develop and maintain database for training records
Manage a personnel turnover plan to include qualification timelines
Assists with development and participate in evaluation activities in the certification process, including anomalies, green cards, and drills in the simulator and at the launch site
Ensure consistent participation in the continuous training program
Coordinate training events across multiple subjects, to include both classroom and simulator environments
Present qualification status at program status reviews
Propose additional training opportunities to improve quality of the program
Ensure all qualification records are in compliance with New Shepard and company level requirements, conduct audits and spot checks as required
Ensure Launch Crew assigned to a specific mission are fully qualified and that proficiency requirements are met
Minimum of a B.S in engineering
5 years of experience
Previous responsibility for and experience with operations crew training and qualification.
Self-starter with strong coordination and project management skills. Must be able to initiate, track, manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and jobs
Excellent computer skills with the ability to use a variety of management and planning software tools, including the ability to rapidly learn apply new software tools as required.
A proven track record of working successfully with a diverse multi-disciplinary team.
Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships within the organization and across multiple groups
Experience developing, writing or updating training plans
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Experience maintaining or operating rockets or complex vehicle systems including hydraulics, power and high pressure pneumatics
Previous experience as a crew trainer and evaluator, creating and implementing a training program
Creation and operation of an operations simulation environment, including inserting anomalies and drills and evaluating crew response.
