AxiomSL is looking for a Technical Writer/Trainer to work in their
NYC office.Summary:

The candidate will work primarily with AxiomSL Global Training team to develop and deliver ControllerView training to AxiomSL employees, clients, and partners. In addition, the candidate will be assisting in the development of online courses, ControllerView documentation and use cases, exercises used in training.

The training team operates in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The position offers access to the latest system development, potential for career advancement and learning new skills by engaging in a diverse set of activities and duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver training content to various audiences
  • Develop product related documentation and training content
  • Editing training content and product documentation
  • Work with various departments such as Professional Services, SMEs, Developers, etc., regarding product features and improvements
  • Must continuously develop strong knowledge of the system and its business application
  • Drive to learn, explore and create is a must
  • Ability to travel 25% to 50%


  • Ability to learn and master the ControllerView Platform
  • 2 - 5 years of hands-on experience in producing training content (including online modules), documentation, procedural guides, etc., for various audiences (business users, support, developers, system administrators, QA, etc.)
  • Advanced organizational and research skills
  • Agile thinking and work habits
  • Ability to work independently and with team members
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are a must
  • High level knowledge of relational databases, SQL and QA is required
  • High aptitude to learn quickly
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Financial knowledge is a plus

Product Documentation sits within UX Design in Bloomberg Financial Products. UX Design at Bloomberg is an ongoing re-imagining of 30+ years of Product evolution, constantly striving to understand our clients' needs and improve their experience. What's the role? Our technical writers create client-facing, end-user documentation for the Bloomberg Terminal and Web Applications. The role requires an individual who thrives on working in a fast-paced organization, interacting with product managers and programmers at all levels of the company, and driving the scope and direction of documentation deliverables. We'll trust you to: * Research, write, and produce a high volume of client-facing documentation for an ever-evolving product. * Build benefit-focused user guide and "What's New" content with a strong focus on content architecture for quick comprehension. * Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions, while working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. * Manage a high volume of projects and priorities independently, in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders. You'll need to have: * 3 or more years of end-user technical writing experience. * Strong, flexible writing skills appropriate for a client audience, with the ability to strike a conversational or more formal tone, depending on the deliverable. * Confirmed experience taking a creative approach to engaging, well-structured, benefit-focused content. * The ability to analyze and transform custom financial tools and analytics into accurate, user-friendly documentation. * Tested project management skills, including strength in managing and organizing multiple projects with variable timelines. * A proven track record of success interacting with all levels of staff and management, including business specialists, development teams, and senior management. * The ability to quickly learn and use new software applications. We'd love to see: * Editing experience. * Experience maintaining a large amount of documentation for a product and establishing new content structures within it. * Demonstrated initiative in innovating and implementing workflow, process, and technical solutions. * Experience writing Excel formulas and effective API documentation. * The ability to read and understand code, preferably Python. * Experience in a role which required a working understanding of financial markets and multiple asset types, including equities, bonds, and derivatives. * Aptitude for strong visual display of information and image production as part of effective content design. * Experience with DITA, HTML, or other online authoring tools.
