Develops and executes a training curriculum for USMA, based on in-depth knowledge and field-related experience and in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders/partners, to ensure that high quality training materials and programs are developed and delivered in line with desired business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Training and development needs

  • Determines training and development needs based on business objectives and required performance/behaviors, and identifies gaps in training content and strategy, in order to gather input for training development and delivery.

Training development

  • Develops, plans and implements (parts of) a training curriculum and training in functional or business area(s), taking into account a broad range of factors (i.e., required performance/behaviors, identified training and development needs, balance between standard training and the need for customization, alignment with organizational strategies, internal and external stakeholders) and working collaboratively across T&D, to ensure high quality training materials and programs have real business impact.

Training delivery

  • Delivers training (virtual and live) in functional or business area(s) in line with T&D standards and operational objectives, to fulfill business needs and drive effectiveness of Genentech employees.

Partnership

  • Acts as a partner for relevant internal and external stakeholders (i.e., establishes partnerships with various teams and their leadership within Genentech, identifies current and future business needs and comes up with recommendations and proposals accordingly), to ensure accuracy and quality of training content and delivery.

Expertise development

  • Keeps up with relevant developments in field(s) of expertise, as well as the business, and exchanges knowledge with internal and external stakeholders, in order to translate insights into practice.

Compliance training requirements

  • Completes all compliance training requirements and reinforces the importance of adhering to compliance policies with the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree is required

  • 3 5 years of relevant professional experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries

  • Previous field experience in sales or customer facing role is preferred

Skills & proficiencies

  • Ability to work with ambiguity is required

  • Passion for coaching and training is a must

  • Experience with group facilitation in a professional setting

  • In-depth knowledge of one training topic is required

  • Basic knowledge of instructional design

Business travel by air or car is required for regular internal and external business meetings

Must live in the San Francisco Bay area

Partnership * Engages leadership at a senior level, establishes partnerships across the organization and aligns with leadership to set training priorities, to ensure that training objectives are aligned with business objectives, vision and strategy. Expertise development * Acts as a Genentech and T&D expert in own area of expertise, ensures that knowledge is exchanged between colleagues and external stakeholders and leads knowledge transfer in the organization, to ensure that the level of knowledge in the organization is adequate and can be translated into practice.
