VIEW JOBS 2/16/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-16T00:00 The Employee and Labor Relations Specialist is the primary contact for employees, managers, and labor union to address employment concerns and grievances.# This role is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and coordinating employee relations cases and ensuring that concerns are addressed in a timely manner in accordance with applicable employment law and organizational policy.# # # ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES # Investigates employee concerns for potential risk and disciplinary matters, writes reports regarding investigations and makes discipline recommendations in consultation with the Director of Human Resources. Keeps the Director of Human Resources apprised of any potential employee issues or concerns. Facilitates and coordinates discussions on employee relation issues. Maintains up-to-date investigation and employee discipline documents in the human resources employee relations software program. Analyzes data and provide trend reporting to the Director of Human Resources. Reviews and interprets employer policies and other documents for managers and employees. Assists in the development of new policies, procedures or guidelines related to human resources. Partners with outside vendors on all leave requests or inquiries. Partners with outside vendors on all unemployment claim requests or inquires. Provides feedback and coaching to managers as appropriate and make recommendations necessary to resolve and prevent employee issues. Tracks and responds to written and verbal grievances and requests. Serves as direct contact for labor union. Educates and trains employees and managers on rights and responsibilities in accordance with NLRB. Participates in union negotiations as needed and appropriate. Collaborates with people and culture leaders and team members to address employee concerns from a multi-disciplinary perspective. # QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS # Education: #A Bachelor#s Degree in related area required; applicable experience/training may be substituted in lieu of education. # Experience: ##A minimum of two years of experience in human resources required; previous employee relations and labor relations experience preferred. # Licenses/Certificates/Registration: PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred. # # # About Us: # Virginia Mason Memorial, part of the Virginia Mason Health System, is made up of a 226-bed hospital as well as 20+ primary care and specialty care practices/services.
