Job Summary:
The Trainer will deliver company training programs and workshops to staff, including new hire, continuing education, and specialized training.

Essential Job Duties: Responsible for delivering training programs to various levels of project staff (front line staff, Supervisors and Managers), assisting with curriculum development, reviewing course materials, administering assessments and monitoring performance of classroom participants.Teaches instructional programs in accordance with training or other course requirements and organize materials to be presented.Delivers Instructor led training programs as needed to achieve business outcomes effective transfer of learning in the workplace.Provides administrative support to Training classes and Training Team members, including class rosters, attendance sheets, assessments, test logs, evaluations, etc.May assist in scheduling of training sessions and individual onsite and offsite training programs, and supporting when necessary, the coordination of training room set-up, audio-visual set-up, supplies and participant notification for training events.Participates in process and team meetings in order to identify and recommend changes to policies and procedures.Follows the regulatory approval and document management process when creating or updating training materials.Supports Training Specialists in the classroom on occasional basis, as needed.Compiles training evaluations to support ongoing revisions to Training programs.Develops and creates training resources and maintains/updates systems training environment and library of training resources to align with operational excellence.Responsible for adhering to established safety standards.Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.Work is constantly performed in an office environment.Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED required

At least two (2) years of training experience required

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products

Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Great public speaking skills

Skilled in adult learning

Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment

Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently

Ability to conduct and manage project reviews and communicate process improvement recommendations The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma with 2-4 years of experience.

  • May have additional training or education in area of specialization.

  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

VIEW JOBS 4/3/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-02T00:00 Job Summary: The Southwest Key Emergency Shelter Operations (SWK-ESO) is looking for a Lead Trainer to assist in the development of training courses appropriate to meet the needs of the Unaccompanied Minor's program with the Emergency Shelter Operations Contract awarded from the Department of Health & Human Services/ORR. This role assists trainers in training staff from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The Lead Trainer is to promote a positive climate of learning and excellence where employees have the opportunity to enhance their professional growth. The Lead Trainer must be a professional leader in organizing the training department in partnership with Program Director or designee. Essential Functions: * Provide effective communication, and leadership in the execution and direction of quality services to youth, staff and medical service staff. Must be sensitive to the needs of the youth in SWK-ESO, in the areas of health and social services as one component. * Assist in coordinating the ordering, purchasing, and inventory of training materials. * Ensure training materials and location are organized and prepared prior to all trainings. * Develop an annual training calendar and distribute to program staff upon approval by the Program Director or designee. * Enroll new employees into Southwest Key Programs' (SWK) web-based RELIAS training tracking system. * Ensure all employees are in compliance with SWK, state and federal training requirements. * Develop mentorship relationships (as approved by the Program Director) with employees requiring additional training and coaching services. * Research, develop and implement new training topics not found in SWK's training catalog. * Must utilize additional research methods and remain up-to-date with current trends to enhance professional skills in preparation for trainings. * Create a safe and inclusive learning environment of respect and rapport to ensure a positive learning experience for program staff. * Use effective instructional strategies (to include but not limited to: appropriate ice breakers, team building activities, project joy) to meet the needs of the program's staff. * Promote positive community relationships in coordination with the Program Director to enhance the resources available to program staff and youth. Other Functions: * Attend all organizational required trainings. * Create, identify and attend workshops that will enhance professional skills in the area of education, direct supervision, vocational, OSHA, HIPPA, and other topics deemed appropriate by program director or designee. * Attend and become a certified instructor for First Aid/CPR, non-violent crisis intervention, verbal judo, the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional Curriculum and other certifications as deemed appropriate by the Program Director or designee. * Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to. * Assist with the submission of monthly SWK/ORR reports, funder's quarterly reports, and end of year reports as necessary. * Provide and facilitate information as needed for SWK/ORR funders monitoring activities. * Assist with the coordination of special educational events (to include but not limited to: spelling bee, science fair, SWK Olympics), acculturation activities (to include but not limited to: Cesar Chavez Day, Thanksgiving, Chinese New Year, Fourth of July, Holi Festival of Colors, 16th of September), Educational Outings (to include but not limited to: visits to museums, water conservation center), coordinate Student Council Activities and other meaningful experiences for SWK learners which promotes volunteerism. * Must assist in the evacuation of youth as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences. * Travel as needed for trainings, conferences or to transport youth to destinations within the U.S. * Must maintain any professional or para-professional certifications acquired while employed with SWK annually. * Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree required in Education, Business, Communications or related field. Master's Degree in Education, Adult Learning and/or Organizational Development required. * Minimum of five years demonstrated success with increasing responsibility and various assignments in learning and development: program management, instructional design, training delivery, performance improvement, leadership development. * Thorough knowledge of adult education principles, personnel supervision, curriculum development, program evaluation techniques, and computer use. * Experience working in a leadership capacity with diverse groups. * The ability to develop and complete tasks without close supervision. * Good organizational and interpersonal skills. * Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills. * Flexibility and availability to travel % * Learning platform experience required: such as Cornerstone on Demand LMS, Webex Training Center, Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, or other contemporary learning technology tools. * Required expert proficiency with MS Office suite. Physical Demands: Must be able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and First Aid Certification (CPR). Must be able to supervise clients indoors and outdoors by standing for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs required to complete daily tasks. Work Environment: The Emergency Shelter Operations is a twenty four hour residential facility at which minors receive multiple services. Three shifts per twenty four hour period. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise level varies from mild to moderate. Lead Trainer must maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the training needs of program staff working all three shifts.
