HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Technical Training team. As a Technical Trainer II, you would be accountable for facilitating and on site coordination & organization, and delivery of Training Events for Dealers, Customers, and Internal personnel throughout the Americas. The trainer is responsible for delivering 100% of prescribed content over 3 5 day periods with or without assistance from additional HYG personnel (depending on the complexity of the material and student experience). In addition, this position is responsible for sustainment of training materials used in the delivery of training workshops to ensure world class training materials are provided for the end-user.

The Technical Trainer II Will Provide the Following Key Accountabilities:

  • Implementing tools such as: Turning Point polling, Online Surveys, Live Responses, Certification Exams, etc.

  • Creating and implementing skill based exercises to ensure skill obtainment

  • Creating and implementing evaluation forms to improve overall program

  • Create and implement relevant stories to improve retention

  • Create and implement other media such as but not limited to, videos, images and other classroom props to ensure student retention

  • Function as the Subject Matter Expert for the development and revision of materials

  • Provide expertise in product, sales and technical areas which enhance the credibility of program offerings

  • Be primarily responsible for sustaining developed materials which covers updating of product Training programs, Certifications, and support materials

  • Be key in providing the expertise in both product and technical areas which enhance the credibility of program offerings

  • Keeping skills sharp and staying up to date not only with HYG products, but the competition as well in order to provide outstanding value to HYG Brands, Dealers and Customers

  • A small percentage of this position's time is reserved for potential special projects

  • Understand and support adult learning theory and work with the development team to incorporate aspects of andragogy and pedagogy into all training materials

  • Use evolving technology to support learning and retention

  • Reinforce all aspects of learning and facilitation to develop a continuing education mentality across all learning platforms

  • Responsible for working with the training team to set and attain certain sales goals and objectives; these solutions may take the form of additional training days, consulting days, printed materials, custom projects or other solutions as they are developed and brought to market

  • Fully utilize the time available to be in the classroom or at a dealer location

  • Should be in the office only as required by management or necessary to complete other assignments and administrative tasks

  • Support the introduction of new products using a blended learning approach

  • Make recommendations regarding content, strategy, experiential activities, viability of programs and tools, appropriateness of activities and relying heavily on their subject matter expertise, content and timing

  • Support the development process if required

  • Perform some administrative duties as required. Examples as follows: setup classroom, clean facilities after use, print documents, organize tools, setup/breakdown activities, follow Experience Center policies, support the Experience Center activities/staff, ensure equipment is ready for a training event, charge batteries, etc.

The Successful Technical Trainer II Must Meet the Following

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • 5-7 years relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 9-11 years without Bachelor's Degree of relevant experience in product management, marketing, training, engineering, service, aftermarket, operations, and/or sales (Preferably in the material handling industry)

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required

  • Ability to work successfully with ambiguity

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Manage classroom outcomes and student performance

  • Excellent conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Presentation skills with Webinar delivery and management utilizing WebEx

  • Deliver and facilitate programs virtually or in a classroom environment

  • Coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback

  • Product, industry or processes expertise
