This description is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis. It does not exclude other duties as assigned.

  • New team member initial training.

  • Assist with on-going education.

  • Assist with new client implementation.

  • Assist with on-going client education.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining current training materials.

  • Attend seminars and payer workshops.

  • Monitor payer websites for policy and process changes.

  • Schedule and track training sessions.

  • Stay current with CBO policies, processes, and software.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard. Light lifting could be required.

Requires High School education or equivalency; medical courses or college preferred.


  • Medical billing experience with preferred minimum of one year employment at the Billing Office.

  • Advanced knowledge of computers, computer programs, and office equipment.

  • Microsoft Office Skills:Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.

  • Presentation skills preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of policies and procedures within the Billing Office.

Responsibilities include: * Oversees the referral process, assisting with overflow work as needed due to volume or PTO. * Monitors providers schedule and is responsible for maintaining optimal schedule. * Responsible for overall patient flow activities and patient issue resolution. * Assists as needed with daily clinical staff. * Coordinates daily non-clinical staff / coverage as well as provides coverage for critical areas if needed. * Coordinates activities with billing office to include demographics and insurance, patient balances, overdue accounts. Gains expertise in billing office functions as they relate to charge capture and overall patient flow. * Coordinates issue resolution and administration for EMR system. Gains experience with EMR vendor to develop additional capabilities. * Coordinates IT and other office equipment problem resolution. Gains experience with IT vendor and flow. * Supervises non-clinical staff and assures that work effort is covered and balanced. * Liaison between practice providers and office employees and between practice and outside vendors / hospital. * Facilitate processing of employee payroll to processor. * Monitor adherence to compliance plans. * Facilitate credentialing information as needed. Requirements * Qualified candidates must have a minimum of three years of progressive medical office experience. * Significant and progressive supervisory responsibilities are important. * Candidates must have multi-functional background in all office based physician office setting, with understanding of insurance, as well as a background in various areas of overall patient flow activities in a medical office. * Must possess computer skills and have worked with or significant demonstrated aptitude for working with an EMR system. * Must be able to coordinate all office activities.
