The Sony Pictures Entertainment Professional Trainee program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. This Spring Professional Trainee position is from June through mid-December. All candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week.

This position is responsible for assisting the Director, Affiliate Marketing on The Mel Robbins Show. You will be immersed in launching a day time talk show, helping drive on-air success across all properties. You will work to become a local market expert, working closely with show executives, affiliate clients, creative services and sales to maximize ratings. The position will also interface with PR and assist with on set press activities, press junkets, social media and show messaging.


  • Provide organizational and administrative support

  • Heavy administrative work phones & scheduling

  • Calendar & contact management

  • Coordinate travel

  • Expense reports, invoice tracking & processing

  • Compose Talent schedules for publicity/marketing events (affiliate tours, press days, premieres, etc.)

  • Execution & logistics for press/marketing events, set visits, press days, client visits and other PR/Marketing specifics

  • Track publicity items in magazines, editorials, trades, etc.

  • Partner with social media team on affiliate related requests


  • Previous administrative and organizational support for busy executive

  • Exposure to a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Industry/talk show experience a plus

  • Education: B.A., B.S., or equivalent preferred

  • General knowledge of the television/entertainment industry

  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro, Internet savvy)

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong written and verbal skills; excellent oral (professional and friendly demeanor) and written (spelling, punctuation, grammar) communication skills

  • Superb organizational and time management skills

  • Proactive and thorough in their approach

  • Takes responsibility and ownership for tasks

  • Can work independently to achieve goals and has a positive attitude
