The Trained Medication Aide is responsible to administer medications according to State and Federal guidelines under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This position is to know and properly distinguish medical abbreviations, effects of medications, properly identifying therapeutic and adverse reactions, plus following through with proper procedure. Must be willing and able to assist the Registered Nursing Assistants as needed.



Administers medications accurately according to policy, signs out medications and treatments appropriately, Documents PRN's.


Must have certificate of completion of medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes, through a Minnesota post secondary institution. Must be a Registered Nursing Assistant.

Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background study, per guidelines of Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Location: Fridley, Minnesota area The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is an individual who provides personal care, selected treatment procedures, minimal household tasks and occasional meal preparation under the advisory of a Registered Nurse for individuals with special needs in their homes. This job requires a caring and compassionate person who has the maturity to assume the responsibilities that this position demands. A genuine concern for the sick or otherwise disabled, the ability to follow written as well as oral directions, and excellent oral and written communication skills are desired. Responsibilities * Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
