Purpose:

As a Trailer Technician your mission would be to

furnish quality major and minor in-house repairs to the Reefer fleet in a timely and efficient manner while complying with Marten Transport, Ltd. policy and procedure.

Your primary responsibilities as a Trailer Shop Technician would be as follows:
1.Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all equipment.
2.Maintain proficiency in rebuilding components on equipment.
3.Effectively and efficiently perform preventive maintenance inspections.
4.Complete all Repair Orders in a timely manner ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
5.Attend all company-training classes, then retain and demonstrate what was instructed.
6.Responsible for the cleanliness of the work area.
7.Perform additional duties and special projects as needed or directed.

ABILITIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must posses mechanical skills and aptitude for the

position. Must be able to exhibit skills and knowledge through company pre employment exam. Must be able to read and write English language and have some computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to stand for long hours. Must be able to work various shifts and days. Must be able to work in all types of climates including extreme hot and cold.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

High School Education with one yer post high school training preferred or two plus years experience in tractor maintenance.

Safety, accuracy and attention to detail are critical in these roles. Duties and Responsibilities * Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs fleet equipment safely and correctly. Conducts failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds fleet equipment components correctly. * Informs management about housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices, and suggests corrective actions. * Identifies and informs management of broken tools and missing supplies required for performing repairs on fleet equipment, and takes steps to solve issue if possible. * Correctly completes complex work orders with proper coding (for example, Reason for Repair (RFR), American Trucking Association (ATA)), description of condition, cause, and correction, including properly completing a warranty return tag as needed. * Maintains a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety and compliance. * Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity. * Performed additional duties as assigned. #supplychainjobs Minimum Qualifications Service Shop Entry Technician will require the following minimum qualifications; * Valid state-issued driver's license. Service Shop Repair Technician will require the following minimum qualifications; * 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance. * Valid state-issued driver's license. * Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25. * Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.
