The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of various types of fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, and light duty vehicles. You will also be responsible for conducting oil changes, equipment inspections, and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, a commitment to quality, and a deep understanding of safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities: Perform regular preventative maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, and light duty vehicles. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and ensure proper charge out of parts to work orders.
Comply with all FMCSRs, DOT Compliance, and OSHA requirements. Perform oil changes, brake inspections, and other routine maintenance tasks. Use maintenance software to create and complete work orders.
Work in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects as part of daily duties. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. 2 years of school and 2 years of experience or 4 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training. ASE certification required. Brake Inspector Certification.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Current valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must have own tools.
Ability to work in inclement weather conditions outside. Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance. Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
Air brake certification or ability to get a certification. Experience performing inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, & light duty vehicles. Experience with electrical diagnostics, repair, and replacement.
Experience with physical parts purchasing, inventory, receiving, and proper charge out of parts to work orders. Maintenance Software experience. Creating and completing work orders.
Quality preventative maintenance inspections. Oil changes. Equipment inspections.
Tractors.
Trailers.
Converter dollies. Lift-gates. Light duty vehicles.
