HNTB is currently seeking a Traffic Project Manager in our Atlanta, Georgia office.Job SummaryResponsible for the leadership and management of a team in support of the project's profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB's 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client's satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of Essential Responsibility * Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. * Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client's satisfaction. * Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. * Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts. * Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by project team. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives. * Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions. * Performs other duties as assigned.Additional Responsibilities- Prepare and manage development of feasibility studies, traffic forecasts, traffic capacity and operations analysis, traffic impact analysis reports, signal design, signal timing, signal systems, ITS design, highway signing & marking and other related traffic engineering work.- Manage traffic data collection studies and project-related field work.- Review and perform design calculations.- Check calculations and drawings.- Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments.Basic Qualification Bachelor's degree in Engineering 8 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualification/Skills- Bachelors degree in Engineering plus 6 years of experience required.- Traffic simulation experience using VISSIM, SYNCHRO and HCS preferred.- Experience developing IJR/IMR, performing accident analysis and developing design traffic forecasting.- GDOT pre-certifications or ability to obtain them within 3 months preferred.- Licensed Georgia P.E. or the ability to obtain within 6 months.- Understanding of traffic operations and design principles and have experience designing traffic engineering, systems engineering, and ITS infrastructure.- Familiarity with pertinent national, state, local, and industry standards.- Experience with MicroStation, SYNCHRO, VISSIM, CORSIM, HCS and other related software preferred.- Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) project experience preferred.- PTOE Certification preferred. #LI-MBGeneral Work Conditions Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. As part of this search, we are seeking a Lead Traffic Engineer for our Atlanta office. Position Description: This position will be an important hire to help grow our Traffic Engineering practice. Position will report to Department Head and serve as project lead for transportation and traffic engineering projects, with the expectation that the candidate will assume a project management role within one year. The candidate should have experience working in groups and have a desire to participate in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment as the traffic engineering group in our Atlanta office works closely with the planning, environmental, civil engineering and roadway design groups. The candidate should have initiative and a strong desire for learning and sharing knowledge, as he/she will be supervising entry level staff. The successful candidate will work on transportation and traffic engineering tasks and projects including: * Intersection and corridor operational analysis * Signal operations evaluation and recommendations * Traffic forecasting/projections * Traffic modeling * Technical report/traffic study preparation This opportunity is available for an individual who has completed a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldwith a focus on transportation engineering at an accredited program, and has minimum experience as outlined below.
