Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Traffic Control Officer is to represent The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino to arriving and departing guests and direct traffic in the Porte Cochre. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino's policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.

  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

  • Identify and explain hotel features to guests.

  • Direct traffic on the front drive in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

  • Provide a service or assistance to meet the needs of a guest, client or customer.

  • Proper performance requires knowledge of a specific function or activity and familiarity with policies and procedures of the department.

  • Comply with policies and procedures of the department or section in order to complete service satisfactorily.

  • Proper performance requires some physical and mental dexterity in order to accomplish tasks associated with the completion of the service.

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age

  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.

  • Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts

  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards

  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Previous experience dealing with customers one-on-one

  • Current DMV report

  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke

  • Must be willing to work outdoors in seasonal heat (100F+) or cold as well as inclement weather or adverse weather conditions

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned

  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives

  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner

  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness

  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods

JOB SUMMARY: Design and create traffic control plans to meet specific needs of customer using a variety of mediums to achieve desired effects. This is a production position requiring hands on knowledge and usage of tools and equipment to produce finished products. * Design Traffic Control Plans for Temporary Traffic Control projects using CAD software (Rapid Plan) * Submit Traffic Control Plans to contractors and authorities for approval. * Assist dispatch department with scheduling upcoming work and communicating with customers. * Perform other work related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: * ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor or equivalent. * Computer experience in Auto Cad & Rapid Plan highly desired. * Knowledge of MUTCD standards and local government temporary traffic control requirements. * Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Understand and follow instructions as given. * Work independently as well as part of a team. * Must be organized, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
